Botox Treatment
Wrinkles are caused by natural movements of the facial muscles. Common areas for wrinkle formation are the mimic muscles of the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes (crow’s feet). To remove these indicators of aging, dysport, commonly known as botox, can be injected. The solution contains a substance called botulinum toxin A. When injected, this toxin blocks the nerve impulses of the muscle. Thus, the muscle activity, which caused the wrinkle, is disabled. Other nerve functions, such as sensation, are not affected.
Botox has demonstrated great results in removing facial wrinkles, however, it can also correct small facial asymmetries and improve excessive sweating from the armpits, palms, and soles.
Treatment
The botox treatment is quite painless and quick and no special preparations are necessary. The treatment involves the injection of the botox toxin through a very fine needle into the particular muscles. The patient can return to work and regular activities a few hours after the treatment. The result, however, is not permanent and the patient can return for more treatments if the results are desirable.
